
Getting the Most Out of the 300mm 1000W Carbon Fiber Heat Lamp
When you’re working with a compact oven but need a massive amount of heat in a tiny space, things get tricky. That’s why we built this 300mm, 1000W lamp. Instead of the usual quartz heaters, we went with a carbon fiber filament. Why? Because it hits its target temperature way faster. It also puts out a specific kind of heat that actually sinks into your materials rather than just sitting on the surface. The Power and the Size Putting 1000W into a 300mm tube is a lot of energy in a small package. It’s perfect for those moments when you need to blast a part with heat without turning your entire oven chassis into a furnace. Plus, since the lamp is shorter, you don’t have to worry about the filament sagging when things get white-hot. You can wire these in series or parallel—whatever your power supply likes—just keep that voltage steady. If it spikes, you’re going to burn through the filament, and nobody wants to replace lamps mid-shift. Why Carbon Fiber? Tungsten is fine, but it can be brittle. Carbon fiber handles the “thermal shock” of rapid heating and cooling much better. It doesn’t just snap when you cycle the power. We wrap the whole thing in high-purity quartz glass to keep the oxygen out. This means the heat stays consistent from one end of the 300mm tube to the other. If you’re still using old halogen tubes for drying or curing, these usually slide right in. Real-World Use (and a few warnings) You’ll see these doing the heavy lifting in PET blowing, plastic welding, or curing paint. The magic here is the shortwave radiation. It hits the workpiece directly. You aren’t waiting around for the air to get hot; the part just feels the heat instantly. But here’s the thing: 1000W in such a small tube creates an intense heat zone. If your reflectors are dirty or slightly crooked, you’re wasting energy by heating up your oven walls instead of your product. And please, check your cooling fans. Make sure they can handle the heat buildup around the sockets, or you’ll end up melting your wiring insulation. Not a great look.
