It just spreads the heat evenly. Why carbon? We use carbon filaments tucked inside high-purity quartz. Now, if you’ve used nichrome wire before, you know the deal. Carbon is different. It doesn’t have to get nearly as hot to put out the same amount of infrared energy. That’s a big win for the hardware. Since the quartz tube isn’t under as much stress, the lamp lasts longer. It can handle being turned on and off all day without burning out. A few things to watch out for These plug right into most industrial controllers using standard high-temp leads. Simple enough.
