The Truth About Our 1000W Carbon Fiber IR Lamps
We built these lamps for people who can’t afford to wait around for things to heat up. If your process needs to hit a specific temperature fast, or if you’re working with materials that only “listen” to certain heat wavelengths, this is where we come in. Most people are used to standard quartz halogen heaters. These are different. Our carbon fiber filaments don’t need to get scorching hot to do their job; instead, they push out a ton of medium-to-long wave IR. It’s a much more efficient way to get heat into the materials that actually need it. Let’s talk about the power. At 1000W, these things hit hard. You get a rapid heat-up phase that seriously chops down your production cycle times. The best part? The response time. Because carbon fiber has way less thermal mass than those old metal coils, it reacts almost instantly. If you’re hooking this up to a PID controller, you’ll notice there’s hardly any lag. You turn it up, and it happens. Just like that. What’s actually inside? We use a carbon fiber weave tucked inside a high-purity quartz tube. We did it this way because carbon fiber handles the “stretch and shrink” of heating and cooling much better than tungsten. It doesn’t sag over time, and it won’t burn out nearly as fast when you’re cycling it on and off all day. The quartz tube is there to keep the filament from oxidizing. But a quick tip:**keep the glass clean.**Seriously. If you leave fingerprints or oil on the tube, you’ll get hot spots. Those hot spots are what kill the tube prematurely. A few things to keep in mind for the install. These usually drop right into your old IR arrays without any fuss. But before you flip the switch, double-check your power supply. 1000W per lamp adds up fast when you’ve got a whole oven full of them. Also, give them some breathing room. If you pack them too tight, the heat just builds up around the edges. Make sure your cooling fans or vents are actually doing their job so the connectors don’t cook themselves. A little bit of airflow goes a long way in making these lamps last.
