When you’re running MHM printing machines, you know the struggle. You need the ink cured perfectly—not under-baked and tacky, but not scorched into a crisp, either. If you’re looking for replacement infrared lamps, keep in mind that you aren’t just buying a lightbulb. You’re trying to recreate a very specific heat profile. The heat footprint Here’s the thing: if you just grab any lamp that fits, you’re asking for trouble. We obsess over the wattage-per-centimeter ratio because that’s where the magic happens. If your machine was built for short-wave quartz and you swap in something weaker, your prints will stay sticky. It’s frustrating. To avoid that, we build our replacements to match the exact voltage and power draw of the original MHM gear. Just a heads-up—make sure your power supply can handle that initial “kick” when the lamps first fire up. The nitty-gritty on materials We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because cheap glass warps when things get hot, and that’s a nightmare you don’t want. Then there’s the coating. It sounds like a small detail, but it’s actually what controls how the heat penetrates your ink. There’s always a balance here. More heat density means you can speed up your line, but if your conveyor isn’t dialed in perfectly, you risk shrinking the fabric. It’s a tightrope walk. Getting them installed The good news is these are drop-in replacements. We use standard industrial connectors, so you can just wire them in without having to hack away at your machine’s frame. But please,be careful with the alignment. If a lamp is tilted even a few degrees, you’ll get hot spots. Those hot spots will burn right through your fabric before you even realize what happened. One last tip: take a look at your reflectors before you put the new tubes in. If they’re oxidized and dull, they’re killing your efficiency. You’ll end up cranking the heat higher just to get a decent cure, which basically kills your expensive new quartz lamps way faster than they should go. Keep them clean, and your gear will last.
