We built these carbon fiber infrared lamps for the tough jobs. You know the ones—where those standard quartz heaters just can’t get the temperature up fast enough and you’re left waiting around. This 640mm unit puts out 2600W, which is a serious amount of heat packed into a relatively small space.
The power behind the size
Putting 2600W into a 640mm frame means you’re getting a ton of wattage per centimeter. It’s designed for when you need to hit your target temperature now, not in ten minutes. Since it’s 640mm, it usually slides right into most industrial drying racks or PET blowing machines without a fight. Just a heads-up: make sure your power supply can handle that initial surge when you flip the switch on a cold start. It hits hard.
Why carbon fiber?
Most people are used to halogen lamps with those thin filaments. We went a different route. Carbon fiber can take a beating and handle much higher temperatures without becoming brittle or snapping like a metal coil would. But the real magic is in how it heats. It uses medium-to-long wave infrared radiation. Instead of just searing the surface and leaving the inside cold, it actually sinks deep into the material. It heats the core. This is a lifesaver if you’re working with plastics or coatings and want to avoid those ugly surface scorch marks.
A few things to watch out for
Installing this is pretty straightforward—it’s a drop-in replacement for most 640mm slots. But be careful. 2600W creates a massive amount of ambient heat. If your housing doesn’t have good vents, you’re basically building an oven that’ll bake your sensors and fry your wiring. Check your thermal shielding. If you run these at full blast without any airflow, the ends of the tubes are going to wear out a lot faster. One last tip: keep your contacts clean. If oxidation builds up at the connection points, you’ll get hotspots. Those hotspots will eventually burn out the tube. Stick with high-temperature terminals to keep everything tight and secure.
