
Let’s Talk About Our 1000W Quartz Carbon Lamps
When you need heat—and you need it now—most standard lamps just don’t cut it. That’s why we built these 1000W quartz carbon lamps. Instead of the usual metal alloy filaments, we use carbon tucked inside a high-purity quartz tube. The result? You get medium-to-long wave infrared that actually sinks into your materials rather than just bouncing off the surface.
Getting Up to Temp
At 1000W, these things are punchy. They ramp up fast. Really fast. That means your machinery spends less time idling and more time actually working. But here is a heads-up: make sure your power supply can handle that initial surge. If your wiring is too thin, you’ll get voltage drops, and that’s a quick way to kill a perfectly good lamp.
Why Carbon and Quartz?
The quartz tube is there to keep the carbon filament from oxidizing while letting the heat pass through without getting trapped. The cool part about carbon is that it doesn’t have to get scorching hot to put out a massive amount of heat. It’s just more efficient. But a word of warning:**the glass is temperamental.**A single fingerprint or a smudge of oil can create a “hot spot.” Once that happens, the glass stresses out and cracks. Please, do yourself a favor and only touch these with lint-free gloves.
Fitting Them In
We designed these to be easy swaps. They fit standard footprints, so you can just drop them into your existing IR arrays and get moving. Just keep in mind that 1000W creates a lot of reflected heat. Your housing is going to feel it. Double-check your reflectors and make sure your cooling fans are actually doing their job. If the end caps get too hot, the seals will give out, the filament will burn, and you’re back to square one.
